| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The candidate should carry out research in “Optimal forming and sintering of ceramics compounds” with the following particular objectives: • Development of models of sintering in order to be able to predict the final structure of a ceramic component. • Modelling of crack and damage evolution during sintering. • Effects of sintering temperature on pre-existing fractures. Tasks and methodology: • Numerical approach to engineering ceramic sintering in different industrial conditions. • Experimental correlation between microstructure and properties: manufacturing and laboratory testing of samples of ceramic components for the validation of the analytical and computational models. • Optimization of production processes, modify technological parameters of the standard test to verify robustness of the models; optimize model results using a multi target optimization software. |
