| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The research project amis at investigating the role of surprising categorization in reducing prejudice. Study 1 will test the role of surprising categorizationoni in the reduction of prejudice towards immigrants. Study 2 will test whether categorizing Rumenians in a counter-stereotypical fashion leads to a decrease of the infrahumanization bias. Study 3 will test the generalization of prejudice reduction as triggered by suprising categorization of a specific target to other outgroups. The post doctoral employee will be trained by attending seminars on prejudice reduction, by studying the related literature and by spending a period of reserch in collaboration with Richard Crisp at the University of Kent. |
