| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The aim of this project is the functional characterization of the Rai/ShcC, a member of the Shc family of protein adaptors, in the interactions between T cells and astrocytes and the downstream responses. The project involves the development of methods for the study of immunological kinapses and synapses assembled by T cells in the presence of astrocytes in order to analyse the chemotactic and antigenic responses triggered in encephalitogenic T cells by activated astrocytes and their modulation by the Rai adaptor in a mouse model of multiple sclerosis. The project requires ample expertise in the techniques of molecular and cellular biology (including cellular and animal models), with a special emphasis on signal transduction by chemokine and antigen receptors. It also requires strong motivation, ability to work independently, good communication skills and an excellent knowledge of the english language |
