| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | In the field of ancient or medieval manuscripts and documents, or of modern autographs, forgeries are a common phenomenon. The aim of this project is to elaborate new analysis methods, and to create a service for the expertise on manuscripts and documents dating from antiquity to the modern age. Among its potential users are: archives, libraries, auction houses, antiquarian booksellers, book collectors both from Italy and abroad. The successful candidate will have to: - elaborate analysis protocols for the main typologies of forgeries, with the assistance of the Department's staff and of CorLib's Lab; - analyse each item from a paleographical, codicological, papyrological, diplomatistic, or art-historical point of view, and make an expertise on its authenticity; - stay in touch, among others, with the Dept. of Industrial Engineering, and cooperate to various kind of scientific analyses; - take care of contacts with the external users; - maintain a register of the activities performed. |
