Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The project aims to develop and test small-scale prototypes of engines ship partially powered by LNG (liquified natural gas) within the development of an innovative hybrid infrastructure in the port of Ravenna, called Green Ironing, which provides the use of electricity not only produced in the dock, that is also through the same engine of ships powered by LNG as a primary fuel. Clean Port will then provide an engine partially powered by LNG scaled for ship engines, combined with a design of a production system, compression, liquefaction and LNG storage for naval use in port and very short movements (entry and leaving the port). The need to improve the liquefaction technologies and accumulation in reservoirs of size as low as possible is part of the The natural gas will be stored in liquefied form ie LNG: the gases must therefore be cooled, over which compressed, to reach the liquid state and, likewise, be stored in high-pressure tanks thus achieving a higher energy density. |
Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The project involves the development of a power supply system of the boats in the harbor which we call Green Ironing (GI), to be implemented on ships of different tonnage and employment to achieve a dramatic reduction of air emissions. For the purpose naval engine it is completely switched off (as in cold-ironing of first generation systems), but powered by renewable sources such as natural gas (which replace the use of heavy oil in the engine already present) and energy sources external electric and environmentally friendly alternatives. View to maximum sustainability of the port and integration with smart-grid sustainable will be developed a natural gas production system from biomass that will contribute to the reduction of non-renewable energy share. |
