| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The main objective of the project is to provide an innovative approach for the handling of the manure produced by livestock farming transforming it in a high quality solid and liquid fertilizer by anaerobic digestion. The advantages comprise a reduction of nitrogen/nitrates input to agricultural soils and a greenhouse gas emission reduction of ammonia. The activities will focus on the evaluation of the solid fraction of the digestate; in particular the following activities are foreseen: a) pot experiments with model plants and plants of local interest evaluating the effect of the fertilizers deriving from the digestor on the soil quality and fertility; b) study of the mechanisms underlying nutrient acquisition using molecular approaches; c) field experiments in vineyards evaluating the effect of the fertilizers deriving from the digestor on the quality and fertility of the soil as well as on the wine quality. |
