| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | Direct laser writing allows a rapid, cheap and flexible fabrication of micro scale objects with nanoscale precision. This technique is based on point-by-point polymerization induced by two photon absorption in the focus of a laser beam, where a tiny voxel is polymerized with high precision. This focus is scanned in three dimensional space through a monomer with added photoresist (either in solid or liquid form) and by synchronized flashing of the laser nearly any structure can be created - voxel by voxel. (Bars are created, for instance, by overlapping voxels along a line.) First applications were directed toward the building of MEMS objects and photonics devices. |
