| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | Il programma di ricerca è incentrato sullo studio dei paesaggi antichi e sul rapporto che tiene assieme forma della terra e principi insediativi. Alcuni temi indagati saranno dunque la topografia, la struttura dei suoli, la struttura viaria e l'assetto antropico, dal mondo antico fino alle più recenti trasformazioni. Il caso di studio viene individuato nell' area centrale archeologica di Roma e nel territorio ad essa connesso ( la campagna romana e l'Etruria meridionale ). Nello specifico la ricerca si focalizzerà sulle antiche infrastrutture (siano esse tracciati viari, acquedotti, strutture architettoniche, etc.) che hanno segnato il territorio determinandone gli sviluppi e che, ancora oggi, potrebbero rappresentare quell'intelaiatura in grado di tenere assieme i molteplici elementi che costituiscono, nel loro sommarsi, il paesaggio. | Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The research programme focuses on the study of ancient landscapes and the relationship between earth and settlement principles. Some of the themes investigated will therefore be topography, soil structure, road structure and human structure, from the ancient world to the most recent transformations. The case study is located in the central archaeological area of Rome and in the territory connected to it (the Roman countryside and southern Etruria). More specifically, the research will focus on the ancient infrastructures (whether they are roadways, aqueducts, architectural structures, etc.) that have marked the territory and determined its development and that, still today, could represent the framing able to keep together the many elements that make up the landscape in their combination. In this context, consular roads are the infrastructure capable of putting apparently distant and heterogeneous areas into system. |
