| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | Soil investigation will be carried out through the opening of both soil profiles and minipits inside the partner farms of the project SUOBO. In each farm the functional soil properties will be analysed in order to assess the organic carbon stock. Soil horizon will be analysed for their physical, chemical and biochemical properties. Moreover undisturbed soil samples will be collected in order to evaluate the “bulk density”. The undisturbed soil samples will be air dried and their volume and mass will be useful for the determination of the organic carbon stock. The obtained organic carbon stock will be used to assess the influence of the diverse forest management practices on the store of carbon inside soil. Moreover, in each farm the plants tissues will be sampled in order to evaluate the carbon stock in plant biomass. Finally, for each soil sample the soil quality indexes will be evaluated (microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen, soil microbial respiration and humic substances) |
