Descrizione sintetica in italiano | This is a work package (WP) project within the broader REGROUP project directed by Professor Piero Tortola at Groningen University. It will look at the politics of the pandemic from the standpoint of policy making and governance. The Covid pandemic and its socio-economic consequences represent an unexpected and largescale exogenous shock for Europe and have led to comprehensive debates about its future that have offered major opportunities for actors to seek radical reform in terms of objectives, institutions and programmes. However, the scale of governance and policy change and why it has occurred must be critically assessed rather than assumed to be radical and/or due to the Covid crisis. The project here at Luiss examines: fiscal rules; cultural heritage and cultural tourism; political accountability in the EU; Legitimacy in a time of Covid |
