| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The aim of the research fellow is the development of a proposal to implement and optimize the monitoring of gravitational processes able to generate sediment and large wood recruitment from the slope to the channel network and of the subsequent transport (i.e. bedload and suspended sediment transport; large wood) along mountain basins in order to reduce the risk and increase the safety of mountain areas in the context of climate change. To this end, the methodology will provide a combination of innovative techniques (UAVs and terrestrial geophones) and traditional approaches (passive and active tracers; turbidimeters and level loggers; fingerprinting analyses) to better understand the dynamics of recruitment, the transport and the cascading processes triggered by the increasingly frequent ordinary and extraordinary colluvial and flood disturbances. |
