Descrizione sintetica in italiano	The project explores the relationships of influence between artificial intelligence, algorithms and democracy. It will attempt to propose a taxonomy of data and algorithms according to their influence on democratic processes, cross-referencing it with different theories of political authority. The aim of the project is to propose a general theory of the legitimate political use of algorithms and databases from a democratic perspective. The project also examines the role of artificial intelligence in redefining the public sphere and how it can be embedded in a system of shared rules in which algorithms can also be clearly placed in a democratic perspective. The project will also attempt to analyse the role of forms of “resistance” to the “power of algorithms” promoted by NGOs and international associations.
