| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | In the framework of the project “River Watching”, financed by the Italian Ministry for Research, the objective of this research is to investigate the morphological dynamics of rivers under different flow, sediment and confinement conditions, by performing physical experiments in a laboratory mobile-bed flume. The investigation will be in close collaboration with the research group at Padova University (lead by prof. Simone Bizzi), who will perform similar research using remotely sensed data. The general objective of the project is to improve our ability to predict river evolutionary trajectories by developing novel geomorphic indicators that integrate spatially and temporally rich global datasets... |
