| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | 1) Collection and organization of bibliographic material relevant to the research (first semester); 2) Digitization of primary sources relevant to the research (acquisition of photos and copies, input of transliterations within the project’s database, lemmatization of the sources, English translations) (first and second semester); 3) Study of one text dossier to be selected on the basis of its historical relevance, in collaboration with the other members of the PRIN project (second semester); 4) Active participation in the project’s life (periodic meetings, workshops, conferences) (first and second semester). |
| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The research project will be carried out in the frame of the PRIN 2022 project "Urban Economy Begins: Structural and Quantitative Aspects of Early City State Economies in the Ancient Near East (2900-2350 BCE)", which aims at offering a reassessment of the urban economies of ancient Meopotamia and Syria during the Early Dynastic period. The main tasks and responsibilities of the research fellow will be the collection and organization of bibliographic material relevant to the research, the input of transliterations of cuneiform sources into the database of the project and their lemmatization and translation into English. The research will focus primarily on the textual corpora from southern Mesopotamia. The research fellow will also study specific groups of texts selected on the basis of their historical relevance; he/she will work in collaboration with the other research units and will participate in the periodic meetings, workshops, and conferences organized within the PRIN project. |
