| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | - Primary objective: To evaluate the effect of new biological drugs on the response to patch tests in patients with moderate-severe Atopic Dermatitis - Secondary objectives: To evaluate the prevalence of ACD in patients with moderate-severe atopic dermatitis To evaluate the classes of allergens prevalent in the patient with moderate-severe atopic dermatitis To evaluate the classes of allergens most influenced by specific treatment and the differences between drugs To evaluate the efficacy of treatment with new drugs in patients with ACD associated with atopic dermatitis We will enrol patients of both sexes, aged between 18 and 65 years, with suspected contact dermatitis associated to moderate-severe atopic dermatitis (EASI>24), for whom treatment with cyclosporine is contraindicated, ineffective or not tolerated, and candidate for treatment with a biological drug. |
| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic or chronically relapsing inflammatory skin disease which results from a complex, multifaceted interaction between environmental factors in genetically predisposed patients with a high prevalence in children (15-30%) and adults (2-10%) (1), characterized by a predominance of the T-helper (Th) cell 2 inflammation (TH2) (2). Recently some emerging therapies have been approved for the treatment of moderate to severe AD: the two most promising substance groups are biological drugs, dupilumab and tralokinumab (anti IL-4 and IL-13/ anti IL-13 respectively) and Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKis), upadacitinib and abrocitinib (anti Jak 1). On the basis of this theoretical background, some cases resolved after the use off-label of these molecules in patients with severe systemic ACD unresponsive to topical drugs have been reported in the literature. |
