| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The research aims at deepening knowledge about the well-being of cattle on the farm, during transport and at the slaughterhouse. Part of the grant will focus on the analysis of the literature, real meta-analyses that will serve to highlight the state of the art, the effects of breeding, transport and slaughtering techniques on the well-being of both beef and dairy cattle. Part of the grant will instead concern data collection through questionnaires and assessment of well-being in the company, during the stay at control posts and assembly centres, at unloading and during slaughtering, to test possible checklists. The aim of the research is to identify risk factors for animal welfare from farm to fork based on the literature and to propose innovative systems for assessing welfare in specific categories of animals. |
