| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | Apprendere l’inglese come seconda lingua a scuola rappresenta un fattore cruciale per una integrazione sociale positiva e un benessere a lungo termine. Tuttavia gli studi sull’apprendimento della L2 si sono focalizzati su studenti di secondo grado o universitari. Il progetto SELF-ENG ha l’obiettivo di contribuire alla comprensione dei fattori che contribuiscono ad un apprendimento autoregolato dell’Inglese come L2 alla scuola pimaria. Il focus è su fattori cognitivi, metacognitivi ed emotivi nei contesti scolastici. |
| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | Learning English as a second language (L2) at school represents a crucial factor for positive adaptation and long-term well-being. Unfortunately, studies on L2 learning mainly focused on college and university students. The project SELF-ENG aims at contributing to the understanding of the factors supporting a self-regulated English as L2 acquisition in primary school. The focus is on cognitive, metacognitive, emotional factors in foreign language learning at school. Children’s metacognitive ability to monitor and control their performance is crucial to regulate future behavior and therefore it deserves to be studied precociously. Furthermore, the metacognitive monitoring and control on English learning raise emotions together with the confidence for a given answer. The current project wants therefore to investigate components of self- regulated learning such as metacognitive monitoring/control and achievement emotions, both positive (joy) and negative (fear and boredom). |
