| Descrizione sintetica in italiano | Sebbene l’Online Hate Speech (OHS) sia una tematica di forte attenzione pubblica, la ricerca scientifica su questo argomento è ancora scarsa. L’obiettivo finale del progetto è quello di fornire evidenze scientifiche per la progettazione di interventi volti a promuovere lo Speaking-UP contro l’OHS. Per fare ciò sono state definite due aree di indagine: 1) COSTRUTTO E MISURAZIONE - Verranno condotti una systematic review e focus group per sviluppare sia un'operazionalizzazione empirica dell’OHS sia una scala psicometricamente valida. 2) IMPATTO E PROCESSI - Il primo obiettivo sarà quello di raccogliere dati longitudinali intensivi (ILD, Bolger & Laureanceau, 2013) attraverso online daily diaries per analizzare le conseguenze dell'esposizione all’OHS per adolescenti non a rischio e a rischio (minoranze etniche e LGBTQI+ community). |
| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | Although Online Hate Speech (OHS) has become a public concern, scientific research on this topic is still scarce. The ultimate goal of the project is to inform, via evidence-based research the design of future interventions to promote Speaking UP against OHS. To do that, two areas of investigation are defined: 1) CONSTRUCT AND MEASUREMENTS - A systematic review and focus groups will be conducted to develop both an empirical operationalization of OHS and a psychometrically sound scale for its assessment. 2) IMPACT AND PROCESSES - The first aim will be to collect intensive longitudinal data (ILD, Bolger & Laureanceau, 2013) through daily diaries to analyse the consequences of OHS Exposure on non-at-risk and at-risk OHS targets (i.e., ethnic minorities and LGBTQI+ adolescents). The second aim will be to identify longitudinal processes and mediators of the relationship between Exposure and Speaking UP against OHS. The research project will follow a multicentric, school-based approach. |
