Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The candidate will have to optimize the synthetic methodologies described above by trying to improve the reaction conditions, reducing reaction times, trying to avoid isomerization phenomena and the production of secondary products and waste. Furthermore, the candidate will have to deal with the development of an analytical protocol for the quantitative and qualitative determination of the product obtained during the synthesis, in order to have analytical data that allow the most effective synthesis conditions to be established. The candidate will then be asked to carry out the synthesis of the products, varying the reaction conditions from time to time and to carry out the complete structural characterization via NMR and HPLC spectroscopy and to know how to translate the information obtained to compose a complete profile of each product that will be studied. |
Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The project involves the design and development of environmentally friendly synthetic protocols, starting from procedures, such as metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions or peptide synthesis, which require particular attention in the choice of reaction parameters, reagents and their stoichiometry. In fact, these processes must be optimized with a view to reducing waste and improving the environmental impact in order to be applicable at an industrial level in compliance with the limits imposed by the regulatory authorities. To this goal, green solvents will be evaluated in combination with rare metal catalysts, focusing attention on the recycling of both the catalyst and the solvent. The electroorganic synthesis approach also represents a possible alternative to the use of more polluting techniques and will be explored in particular for the introduction of fluorinated groups in molecules of pharmaceutical interest |
