Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The activity is focused on the study, design, and assessment of innovative communication techniques for broadband and broadcast satellite communications systems. Target applications include, but are not limited to, satellite systems for broadband communications, mobile services, machine to machine applications. Design, analysis, and performance assessment in different scenarios will be based on both theoretical and numerical simulation approaches. The activity falls in the larger framework of the design of next generation satellite communications systems currently on going at European level in the context of ESA and EC studies. The proposed research activity will be driven towards a systematic and thorough study of new techniques able to improve the waveform design and optimization by considering system constraints, such as propagation conditions, non-linear distortion, terminal cost and complexity, single or multi-gateway architecture, integration with terrestrial networks. |
