Descrizione sintetica in italiano | The research will be carried out as part of the project “Recovery and valorization of the by-products of the agricultural and food industry, for the development of innovative functional foods, cosmeceutical and nutraceutical products” (Hi-life). The project is mainly focused on the study of products of the milk, olive oil and citrus industries. The researchers involved in the project will carry out research on the chemical characterization of functional foods, nutraceuticals and cosmetic formulations.These formulations contain biologically active compounds isolated from the by-products of agricultural and food industries. Conventional and innovative analytical methods will be developed for the determination of different chemical classes (for example, proteins and peptides, polyphenols, carotenoids), mainly based on the use of mono- and multidimensional techniques coupled to mass spectrometry. |
