Descrizione sintetica in italiano The goal is to assess and measure the effects of past and current trade policies highlighting their implications with respect to Food and Nutrition Security strategies. Econometric methods (e.g., gravity models) and/or equilibrium models (e.g., computable general equilibrium models) could be used to perform the analysis. Moreover, it could be interesting to study how to apply value-chain concepts to achieving nutrition goals. Global value chain analysis, as a matter of fact, provides both the conceptual and methodological tools for looking at global, regional, and local economies by using a top-down approach that focuses on global lead firms that control trade, as well as a bottom-up approach that focuses on countries and regions
