---|---|
Titolo del progetto di ricerca in inglese | Characterization of variant-BTK, a novel gene responsible for resistance to chemotherapy and its usage as diagnostic/prognostic marker and for the therapy of solid cancers |
Settore Concorsuale | 06 - Scienze mediche |
S.S.D | MED/04 - PATOLOGIA GENERALE |
Descrizione sintetica in italiano | Using a specific BTK* antibody a retrospective study will be carried out by TMA on 2 groups: 1) colon carcinoma samples at different stages, in order to establish whether BTK* expression is an early rather than a late tumorigenesis marker. 2) colon carcinoma samples from chemotherapy resistant vs responsive patients, as inferred from their clinical history. For resistant patients, when possible, tumoral samples from surgery or biopsy collected before therapy and at the relapse will be analysed. This kind of analysis will define whether BTK* expression can predict tumor responsivity to chemotherapy. All the samples for the retrospective study will be obtained from collections of paraffin blocks already existent in the Pahology sections of several Hospitals already collaborating with us. |
