| Descrizione sintetica in inglese | The Project aims to enhance the performance of Geothermal Energy (GE) structures (e.g., foundations, tunnels and retaining structures) through an in-depth investigation of the thermo-hydro-mechanical interactions between these structures and the soil. The envisioned solutions will be developed to meet energy and mechanical performance targets by means of a hybrid framework that integrates thermodynamic-based formulations, multi-physics numerical modelling and stochastic approaches. Design criteria and tools will be developed accordingly to assess and control the effectiveness of GE structures, promoting enhanced use and distribution of geothermal energy resources. |
